Allan Bank is a large National Trust property that was once home to William Wordsworth. It is well worth a visit where you can look round the house and explore the grounds with woodland trails and picture-perfect picnic spots.

Dove Cottage is where William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy lived between 1799 - 1808. Today in Dove Cottage, visitors can experience the sights, sounds and smells of the past. View original manuscripts and unusual objects from the Wordsworths’ lives in the Museum. Also onsite is a Café, Garden-Orchard, Viewing Station and exhibitions that change throughout the year.
